Your product catalog is where every item you sell lives in Organizely. Each product holds one or more variants (for example a T-shirt product with size and color variants), and inventory, cost, and purchasing details are tracked at the variant level. This page covers how products get into Organizely, how to create and edit them, and what each part of the product detail page does.
Where products come from
Products come from your Shopify sync. When Shopify is connected, your products and their variants flow into Organizely automatically and stay in sync, so your catalog reflects what is in your store.
You can also create a product manually from the catalog when you need an item that is not coming from Shopify.
Note: The Stocky migration import does not bring products across. Products always come from the Shopify sync. Sync your Shopify products first so that things like purchase-order lines and adjustments link to the right items.
Viewing the catalog
Go to Catalog → Products.
Search, filter, and browse all of your products from the list.
Click a product to open its detail page, where you can edit it and manage its variants.
Creating a product
Go to Catalog → Products.
Click Add Product to open the New Product form.
Fill in the product information:
Name
SKU
Description
Category (for organizing your catalog)
Vendor or manufacturer
Images and media
Tags and other attributes
Add one or more initial variants (see Working with variants below).
Save the product.
Note: Creating and editing products is a Manager and Admin capability by default. Workers can view products and inventory but do not edit the catalog unless granted access. Admins can tune who can access the catalog per role or per user under Team → Roles and Permissions.
The product detail page
Open any product to reach its detail page. Here you edit the core product information (name, SKU, description, category, vendor, images, and tags) and work with the product across several tabs.
Variants
Manage the product's variants: SKU, pricing, dimensions, weight, barcode, and each variant's inventory. See Working with variants below for the full breakdown.
Locations
See how this product's inventory is distributed across your warehouse locations, so you can tell where stock is actually sitting.
Purchasing
Configure how the product is bought. At the product level you can set preferred suppliers, lead times, and reorder points. Each variant can also be sourced from several suppliers, each with its own quoted cost, supplier SKU, pack size, lead time, and minimum order quantity, with one supplier marked preferred as the default for purchase orders. You can also pin a variant's cost so a hand-entered cost overrides the running weighted-average (unpinning resumes the weighted-average).
Integrations
View and manage this product's connection to external platforms like Shopify, including its integration sync status.
History
An audit log of every change made to this product, so you can review who changed what and when.
Working with variants
Every product has at least one variant, and most catalog data lives at the variant level. On a product you can:
Create multiple variants per product (for example by size or color).
Give each variant its own unique SKU.
Set individual pricing per variant.
Record dimensions and weight per variant.
Manage a barcode per variant (barcodes can also be generated for printing).
Track inventory separately for each variant.
The Incoming (on-order) quantity
A variant's detail page shows an Incoming quantity: the stock that is already on its way to you. It combines:
Open purchase-order units that have not been received yet, and
Stock in transit via transfers.
This lets you see what is already coming before you reorder, so you do not double-order stock you have already bought.
Raw-material tracking (Pro plan)
If your plan includes Raw-Material Tracking (Pro), a variant also has a Materials tab where you can define and cost the bill of materials it is built from. This is optional and only appears on plans with the entitlement.
