Team and Permissions

Team and Permissions

Organizely's Team area is where you bring people into your organization, decide what each person can do, and adjust access as responsibilities change. It lives under Team in the sidebar and has two pages: one for members and roles, and one for the per-role permissions matrix.

What you can do

  • Invite members and assign roles (Team → Manage): send an email invitation, give each person a role (Admin, Manager, or Worker), and view team activity. When editing a member, an admin can also set a per-user permission override so one person gets more or less access than their role's default.
  • Fine-tune the roles and permissions matrix (Team → Roles and Permissions, admin-only): control exactly which feature areas each role can reach, with one toggle per area, saved per role.

Roles at a glance

Organizely ships with three built-in roles:
  • Admin : full system access. The Admin role always has full access and can't be restricted.
  • Manager : manage products, orders, and purchasing.
  • Worker : limited, operational access.
Roles left at their defaults behave exactly like the classic three-tier system. You only need the permissions matrix when you want to customize what Managers and Workers can see, and you can go a step further by overriding permissions for an individual person.
Note: Inviting members, assigning roles, and editing the permissions matrix are admin-only actions.
