Every sales order line item can point to the purchase order it is being sourced from, and every order shows its profitability. Both live on the order detail page: the sourcing and cost controls sit on each line item, and the profitability figures sit in the right-hand summary column.
What you can do
Link an order line item to the purchase order it is waiting on, so you know which incoming stock will fulfill it.
Link every line on an order to one PO in a single action, and clear them all just as fast.
Do this even on read-only Shopify-synced orders (the link and cost stay internal and are never sent back to Shopify).

Read each order's COGS, Gross Profit, and Margin in the "Order Profitability" panel, with a per-unit cost override on each line.
Link a line item to a purchase order
Each saved line item on an order has inline sourcing and cost controls, including a "Linked Purchase Order" field. Use it to record which PO that line is sourced from or waiting on.
Open the order from the Orders section.
Find the line item you want to source.
In that line's "Linked Purchase Order" field, search for and select the purchase order it is being sourced from.
Repeat for any other lines that are waiting on a PO.
To remove a link, clear it from the same "Linked Purchase Order" field.
Note: These controls appear once a line item has been saved. Linking a line to a PO does not move stock or change the PO. It records the sourcing relationship so you can track which order depends on which incoming shipment.
Link every line to one PO at once
When a whole order is being sourced from a single purchase order, you do not have to set each line by hand.
Open the order.
Select "Link all to PO" above the line items.
Search for and select the purchase order, then confirm to apply it across every line item.
This replaces any PO already linked on individual lines. To undo it, open "Link all to PO" again and choose "Clear PO from all lines", which appears once at least one line is linked.
Linking works on read-only Shopify orders
Orders synced from Shopify are read-only in Organizely, but you can still link their line items to purchase orders and set costs on them.
The purchase-order link and the per-unit cost are internal to Organizely only.
They are never sent back to Shopify, so linking never changes the order in your store.
See which orders are waiting on a PO
Once you have linked order lines to a purchase order, that PO can show you everything depending on it.
Open the purchase order from Purchasing → Purchase Orders.
Go to the "Linked Orders" tab.
Review which sales orders, and which of their line items, are waiting on this PO's incoming stock.
This tells you which orders you will be able to fulfill once the PO arrives. The tab also includes a shortcut to the Orders section so you can link more orders to this PO.
Order Profitability (COGS, Gross Profit, Margin)
Every order shows an "Order Profitability" panel in the order detail's right-hand summary column. It reports three figures computed from each line's cost:
COGS: the cost of goods sold across the order.
Gross Profit: revenue minus COGS.
Margin: gross profit as a percentage.
Set a per-unit cost (COGS)
You can set the unit cost used for any line directly on that line.
Open the order.
On a saved line item, find the "Unit Cost (COGS)" field, next to the "Linked Purchase Order" field.
Enter the unit cost for that line and save it.
Repeat for the other lines you want to cost.
Note: If a line has no unit cost of its own, the order falls back to the variant's effective cost when calculating profitability, so some lines may already be costed without an override.
When each figure appears
The panel fills in progressively as more lines have a known cost:
COGS shows as soon as at least one line has a known cost.
Gross Profit and Margin show only once every line on the order has a known cost, since both need the full cost picture to be accurate.
Tip: If Gross Profit and Margin are not showing yet, check for a line without a cost. Setting a "Unit Cost (COGS)" on that line completes the picture.
