Orders

Orders

Your Orders area is where you manage customer sales orders: the demand side of your business. Most orders arrive automatically from your connected store (for example, Shopify), and you can also enter orders by hand for phone, wholesale, or one-off sales. From here you track each order through fulfillment, tie its line items back to the purchase orders you are sourcing them from, and see the profit on every sale.

Where to find it

Orders is a top-level section in the sidebar, listed just below Catalog. Opening it takes you to the order list, where you can view every customer order and check its status at a glance.

What you can do

  • Manage and fulfill orders. Open any order to review its customer details, shipping and billing addresses, and line items. Track fulfillment progress, manage shipped quantities, and move an order through its lifecycle: Pending, Processing, Shipped, Delivered, or Cancelled.
  • Create a manual order. Enter a sales order by hand when it does not come from a connected store: add the customer information, add line items, and calculate totals (tax, shipping, and discounts).
  • Link line items to purchase orders. On each line item, use the inline "Sourcing and Cost" controls to link it to the purchase order it is being sourced from, or use "Link all to PO" to apply one purchase order across every line at once. The linked PO's Linked Orders tab then shows which orders are waiting on that incoming stock.
  • See order profitability. Each order shows COGS, Gross Profit, and Margin in an Order Profitability panel in the detail view, computed from each line's cost. You can set a per-line cost (COGS) override next to each line's purchase-order link.
Tip: COGS appears as soon as at least one line has a known cost. Gross Profit and Margin appear only once every line is costed, so fill in any missing per-line costs to see full profitability.

A note on Shopify-synced orders

Orders that sync in from Shopify (or another connected store) are largely read-only in Organizely: the store remains the source of truth for the order itself, so you generally will not edit its line items or customer details here. The internal tools still work on these orders, though. Linking a line item to a purchase order is internal-only and is never sent back to Shopify, and the per-line cost (COGS) override is an internal Organizely field that never affects the order in Shopify.
